3D “speed bump” illusion. If a car is traveling at the speed limit they will be able to stop in time. Hopefully people won’t get used to it and start running over real children, thinking they’re illusions.
Hopefully people won’t get used to it and start running over real children
This is wrong for exactly that reason- people will get used to it. If that was on my street I would be out there scraping it off.
The Hobbit Behind-the-Scenes Production Video Blog #4
Filming with no less than 48 Red Epic cameras at 48fps in full 5k resolution might sound fantastic, but it hasn’t all been a bed of cotton candy. Two 3D cameras need to be mounted at the same “interocular” (the inch-or-so distance between your eyes) which is impossible given the size of the Epic and its lenses. The team had to hire specialist firm 3ality to build a rig where one camera shoots the action and the other is pointed vertically at a mirror.
The biggest thing that impressed me in this video was the 3D concept art. I just cannot imagine the skill level needed to sit side by side like they do and draw the same picture just slightly off from each other to represent both eyes. I wish I has some red/blue anaglyph glasses so I could see the final image.
December 2012 cannot get here fast enough. :D

My absolute favorite Disney movie. :)
Disney recently announced that they plan to convert more Disney classics to 3D like they did with the Lion King. And while I normally do not like converted movies, I must admit, they did an awesome job with the Lion King. I didn’t get a headache, experience any eye-strain, and it didn’t distract from the story at all, in fact it enhanced it- think stampede. :D
The Little Mermaid is currently planned for a 2013 release- can’t wait!

Full screen-split screen with any game
I have yet to be impressed with the whole 3DTV fad, but I must say, this is an awesome use of the technology! Its a shame you have to break a pair of glasses to do it (couldn’t just pop out the lenses I guess?), but hopefully game makers will catch on to this and maybe start selling ready made glasses.
